Get to know me.
My name is Stephanie Terrio.
I grew up in the mountains of Santa Barbara, CA with a hard working, conservative Christian family. Both my grandfathers served this country in times of war, and peace. I was in awe of their sacrifices, work ethic, and patriotism. My grandmothers were immigrants, brought by their parents to find the American dream. One fleeing German occupation in Belgium, one escaping the consequences of the Great Depression in Mexico. Every year, being with my family, celebrating our diverse holidays, that is what shaped my love of America. Our Christmas parties were cheerful, and we loved participating in Las Posadas with our community in December. 4th of July, Veterans Day celebrations, mourning on Memorial Day, that is what inspired my patriotism, compassion, and enthusiasm to serve.
When I was 14 I joined a PAC called the Young America’s Foundation and got to travel by myself all over the east coast, campaigning for candidates and meeting our nation's leaders. This gave me a passion and pride in our electoral system. I participated at the Ronald Reagan Center in California and enjoyed seeing the community of politicians. I knew that is what I wanted to do when I got older. I wanted to join our great nation's government and represent my friends, neighbors, and fellow citizens.
I spent my whole childhood being excited to turn 18 and vote for the first time. To start my civic honor and bring change to the country. Unfortunately, 6 months after my 18th birthday I got to cast my first vote for president and it had to be Trump v Clinton. I felt duped by my government, how did a primary election with American voters give us the most wet noodle candidates? Where was the fire and the passion to take care of our nation, its laws, and citizens? I expected to enter a network of representatives, officials, motivated and dedicated people who cared about the government and the Constitution to negotiate and bring our people's concerns to the floor. I expected the Executive branch to respect and defend the Supreme Law of the Land. I was seeing a country divided, hating each other over things that made no sense to me. Why did our representatives need to have polarizing opinions on everything? Why was their language so divisive? I became discouraged, I began realizing that the people in our government who skirt issues and dodge questions were not performing a duty, they were playing politicians on stage for profit.
I abandoned my dream of working in our government and gave up on educating my friends as the anxiety of where our country was heading gave us all existential dread. We can’t afford homes, or children, or the doctor. After college I started the grind of full time work so I could pay rent. I started working in the Automotive industry, retail, service, and then veterinary medicine. Years of corporate jobs desensitized me to the struggles we face every day, and living became work. It quickly turned into proof that this country didn’t intend on taking care of us like I was told. After working there for the last 6 years, the stress of seeing our local government, federal government and representatives ignore all our needs re-ignited my passion for justice and I will stop at nothing to inspire everyone I know to participate for the betterment of our nation.. As JFK said “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” doesn’t mean join the Armed Forces. It means vote for people that care, talk about corruption, hold people accountable. We get mad when someone doesn’t replace the toilet paper at work, yet we let our district representatives no show for months, never write bills, and in some cases purposefully vote against their district wishes.
It feels like they keep taking our money and promising they’ll eventually have us in mind. News flash: They live in the same timeline as you. They aren’t far away people making decisions you’re disconnected from. They work for you, the people! Their only job is to get you what you want. You HAVE to vote if you want anything in this country. So why has the last 40 years felt so much more difficult? Well, take a look at the definition of a Private Foundation in the United States and let me know if you have an opinion.
I am tired of pretending like we can’t talk about politics. Why are we only allowed to criticize ourselves, and our beliefs, why not our leaders?
We are a constitutional federal republic. We follow our laws, our constitution. We understand our forefathers had an idea for a continuously improving country, not a corporate, cyberpunk dystopia. We need to discuss AI regulation and affordable housing, and health care. I can’t afford my dentist or my dermatologist and when my mental health suffers because of it, I can’t afford care for that either! We can change. All you have to do is vote for people who want to represent you. Who want what you want.
Tell me what your concerns are and let me prove that you can have a congress person who actually wants to improve life for you, your parents, and children NOW.

If you live in my district; Yamhill, Polk, (parts of) Marion, Clackamas, Washington County Oregon, please let me know your concerns.
I want your specifics. Is there a divide in your community? Is your kids school underfunded? What issues have you faced in senior/elder care? If you’re military, has the VA helped you and your family?
